In Shakespeare’s “The Merchant of Venice” the role of legal interpretation in is an important aspect of the entire work In “The Merchant of Venice,” Shakespeare also adds another level of legal interpretation to be considered by both the characters in the play and the audience -- interpretation of religious law. Various criticisms and theories related to the intent and process of legal interpretation are presented in this paper and discussed. Bibliography lists 7 sources.
