The extent to which affirmative action began as a principled approach to bringing minorities greater social, academic and economic equity is both grand and far-reaching; that this very same program has only served to dumb down the minority population while at the same time create a situation of reverse discrimination against whites speaks to a once-viable solution that has long overstayed its welcome.
