A 4 page paper. Biological factors have been suspected of causing criminal behaviors off and on for a century. While the early theories have been discounted, the most recent research in genetics has brought the issue to the forefront again. One conclusion of recent research is that there is no ‘crime gene’ but there are genes that could predispose an individual to aggression, violence and other antisocial behaviors. While these genes may predispose a person to certain traits, they do not in and of themselves cause a person to commit any kind of crime. This paper elaborates on this premise. Bibliography lists 7 sources.
