In short, Deists are provided the indulgence to discern for themselves the vast and various elements associated with man, his universe and all that is spiritual without being dictated to or conditioned into believing certain ideals (such as Hell, damnation, predestination, original sin) so prevalent within the stringent boundaries of structured religion, a particularly pertinent point when it comes to the radical changes that occurred during the French Enlightenment.
