Selznick for Selznick International and released by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer), which is one of the most popular and profitable films every made (GWTW, 1995). The film won 9 Academy Awards, which includes Ernest Haller and Ray Rennahan winning for Best (Color) Cinematography. Examination of GWTW in terms of cinematography demonstrates that this accolade was well-deserved, as lighting and camera choices, throughout the film, serve to underscore the narrative's major themes by helping to establish mood and characterization.
