A 5 page paper discussing why Internet stocks typically are seen as being more risky than those of traditional businesses. Infrastructure for an Internet company can be a kitchen table and a server; it is immensely more extensive for traditional business. Some Internet companies have found they cannot afford to go on; traditional companies often cannot afford to quit. There are a number of constraints on the traditional business that either do not apply to Internet companies, or else are of greatly less relevance than to traditional companies.
