in Sophocles play Antigone? The details that are
presented to us in this play are that he is the son
of the recent King Creon, and he is betrothed to
Oedipus' daughter, Antigone. Yet there is much more
--Haemon reflects the wisdom of reason and at the
same time mirrors the self-righteousness of Antigone
. He reflects the words of the people to his father,
and mirrors his devotion to Antigone, real or
imagined. He honors the protocol of his position,
and mirrors the idealism of love.
