Based on diet and exercise for the purpose of lowering cholesterol, the result of the intervention may be that the individual experiences a sense of well being and heightened responsibility for his own health. If so, then motivation for continuing past the two week period may become intrinsic rather than being driven for the purpose of completing a required record sheet. Ultimately, the health promotion should have positive effects on the individual’s cholesterol levels as measured by a blood test.
