Hedging Questions

[ send me this term paper ]
This 10 page paper is written in two parts answering questions set by the student. The first part of the paper looks at a firm that hedges 80% of their contracts to purchase copper. The reasons for hedging are examined and then a hedging strategy is developed to hedge for 1 million pounds of copper at four different points in the future. Using the futures figures and the spot prices, the strategy is examined to identify when it has been beneficial and to give the range of average prices paid over the case study time period and also look at the potential for margin calls. The second section examines two loans to assess the internal rate of return, comparing a capped and a non capped loan. The bibliography cites 5 sources.
