Midlife crises have long been considered a man's problem, since women have historically suppressed the unsettledness and overexertion they experienced in order to preserve and protect the family. However, the twenty-first century has ushered in a closer and more careful look at how midlife can be just as disconcerting for the female gender as much as it is for her male counterpart, because women are also feeling the pressure of doing too much but not feeling satisfied.
