A 5 page paper examining the usefulness of minority set-asides in government contracts. The federal government necessarily goes to the private sector for acquisition of goods and services needed. Government contracts are seen as a lucrative way of expanding almost any business. There has been much debate over the current relevance of maintaining certain contracts only for competition by minority-owned businesses, but nearly all the participants neglect to note that the set-asides are overseen by the Small Business Administration.
