This 11 page paper considers the way that these different aspects of telling the future and interpreting the meanings can be seen, the frequency and influence of the foretelling on the reader and the characters. The differences between the Ancient Greeks, as demonstrated by the use of Sophocles' work 'Oedipus the King' and the books of Genesis and Matthew in the bible may appear to be very different, but there are also some interesting commonalties. Both can be seen as representing the cultures from which the stories come, and booth have similar messages about the place and role of humanity. The bibliography cites 2 sources.
