A 7 page paper
discussing both the book and film "Hiroshima, Mon Amour." It is the story of a French
actress emotionally haunted by World War II who is forced to confront her ghosts when she
travels to Hiroshima to take part in a film about the bombing. Duras wrote the screenplay for
the film directed by Alain Resnais; that screenplay is known as her greatest success in film.
The psychological perspective of both the novel and the film is accurate both in its creation
and its deconstruction. We all celebrate Elle's beginning of healing. Bibliography lists 4
sources.
