As evident from the several in-text references as well as this article's bibliography, Reni Courtney, the article's primary author, is one who has been active in both working and reporting views from the vantage of the public health nurse. The authors argue for integration of roles so that individuals are given greater voice in their own health care. Rather than being only a paper of theory, the authors present a clear plan of achieving that partnership and give an example of using the elementary school health fair as making contact with much of the community.
