This 10 page report
discusses whether or not college students, by virtue of their age
and their standing as students, should be considered separate
from the social or civil constraints imposed upon other citizens
by the law. What has always been disturbing about the argument or
the debate regarding college students’ culpability has been
recognizing and defining what the appropriate level of personal
accountability should be for college students and whether or not
they are “above the law” in terms of the consequences of their
actions. However, why should somebody (anybody) who is legally
an adult be allowed to essentially ignore the constraints of a
civil and democratic society? Bibliography lists 5 sources.
