A 4 page paper discussing the hybrid situation of the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) and the detrimental effects that lack of focus and sound management have brought to the authority. Logue and MacAvoy (2003) relay many of the financial and operational problems that TVA has faced over the past several years, but it appears that the agency’s greatest single problem is that it does not operate with the accountability of the private sector nor the guarantee of continuation that typically supports purely public agencies in terms of budget. All other gross polluters in the country literally have had to clean up their operations, and TVA should be held at minimum to the same standards. Bibliography lists 2 sources.
