[ send me this term paper ]
An 8 page literature review that supports the theory that the MIDCAB or minimally invasive direct coronary bypass procedure, has a number of benefits for patients and nurses over the commonly used standard coronary bypass procedure. The benefits for patients include less pain, because the procedure is less invasive and does not require a sternotomy, quicker recovery times and shorter hospital stays. It is the theory of the author that this also benefits nurses by decreasing the amount of time they must provide cardiac care within the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU). Bibliography lists 9 sources.
