7 pages in length. The utilitarian system is an entity comprised of individual human beings who attest to provide protection for the masses. This may be true in theory but the truth of the matter is that a small percentage has gained far too much influence over people's lives in their ongoing quest for civil harmony. At issue is whether or not utilitarianism has a place in the framework of global civilization and if it does, to what extent is this association deemed beneficial or disadvantageous. The writer discusses how utilitarianism claims to work for the benefit of the greater good, however, it fails to take into account the consideration of the lesser numbers, who continue to represent yet another group whose interests are routinely ignored. Bibliography lists 4 sources.
