The Neuman Systems Model

[ send me this term paper ]
8 pages in length. Applying the Neuman's Systems Model to the circumstances found within Tom Hanks' movie Cast Away is to address the inherent quest for survival amidst social confines. Inasmuch as the model is based upon theories of stress adaptation, and views the person as being a multidimensional whole, in constant dynamic interaction with the environment, Hanks character must learn to adapt to a drastically unfamiliar existence when a plane crash leaves him to fend for his life on a deserted island. From his life-altering experience, he learns that he must become a team player in the game of life -- concerned with the totality of forces which may disturb the individual's steady state of equilibrium and disrupt the harmony of the internal and external environments -- rather than maintain a separation between himself and the world around him. Bibliography lists 9 sources.
