To this writer/tutor's way of thinking, the perfect writing class is one in which the focus is on writing. That sounds rather simplistic, but a quick look online shows numerous writing courses where the emphasis seems to be on quizzes, tests and completing reading assignments. This writer/tutor believes that the focus of a writing class should be on the task of actually writing, that is, on personal creativity and learning how to apply instruction toward the task of completing manuscripts and projects. Therefore, a vision of an ideal writing class, in my opinion, would not encompass any traditional quizzes or tests, as such.
