This 10 page research paper examines the problem of violence among American youths with particular relevance to its impact in schools. The writer explores various causal factors of violent behavior and several different types of programs being implemented to prevent it. Included in the discussion are programs that attempt to intervene during early years and prevent the onset of violence as well as those that come later on in the child's development and seek to obstruct the entry of weapons into schools.
