An 11 page paper. To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee was published in 1960 but the story takes place in 1930s Alabama. In this paper, the writer provides an overview of three main characters in the book. The overview is intended to describe the characteristics and qualities of each of the identified players. The writer then uses Erikson's stages of development and ego strengths to analyze each character, i.e., are they appropriate according to Erikson's stages. These stages and their commensurate ego strengths are briefly described. Finally, the society in which these people live is analyzed according to expected behaviors and how the characters actually act. Bibliography lists 3 sources.
